Sonia graduated from her Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from Flinders University in Australia. Prior pursuing Physiotherapy, she earned her Bachelor’s of Kinesiology from the University of Alberta.
Throughout her career, Sonia developed a strong passion for using manual therapy, IMS needling, and exercise prescription to treat patients with musculoskeletal injuries. Sonia takes a holistic approach to patient care, considering not only the physical aspects of an injury but also the emotional and psychological impact it can have on an individual.
During her time in Australia, Sonia gained experience working with a diverse patient population, including individuals with neurological conditions, chronic pain, and post-surgical rehabilitation needs. She also gained experience in treating sports injuries, which is particularly relevant given her own background as a competitive soccer player.
Sonia remains active through recreational soccer, golf, and working out at the gym. Her personal experience as an athlete has given her a unique perspective on the importance of injury prevention and rehabilitation.
