Sharan graduated from the Physical Therapy program at Baba Farid University and then continued her education with a Master’s in Neurology at CCS University. She has over 25 years of experience treating orthopedic and sports injuries and neuro-musculoskeletal and pediatric conditions. Sharon has been practicing as a certified Manual Mulligan Therapist since 2005. She plans on improving her manual therapy skills by pursuing a Diploma in Advanced Orthopedic and Manual Manipulative Physiotherapy offered by the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Since graduating, she has completed her Fellowship of Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation with Indian SCI Rehab Center DELHI. She continued expanding her knowledge base by completing a Neurodynamic and Neurodevelopment Techniques (NDT) certification with pediatric and neurologic patients.
Sharan completed a specialized certification in Concussion/Vestibular Rehabilitation and TMJ dysfunction in Canada. She is also certified in Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) to add mechanical advantage to treating soft tissue and fascial restrictions. As a GLA:D certified Therapist in Canada, she enjoys working with the Hip/Knee and back osteoarthritic population. Sharan has completed her Functional Dry Needling/IMS certification and plans on becoming CAFCI (Acupuncture) accredited.
Through U of A’s Continuing Education Program, she completed her advanced certification in Pelvic Floor internal and external examination and treatment techniques. Sharan strongly believes in the clinic’s philosophy of empowering clients through patient-centred care, education, and client-centred exercise programs to help them gain enough skills to continue their rehabilitation journey independently.
Clinically, Sharan is passionate about working with patients of all ages and backgrounds who suffer from pelvic dysfunction, TMJ dysfunction, chronic pain, spinal disorders, athletic injuries, pre and post-surgery rehab, motor vehicle injuries and work-related injuries. She is fluent in English, Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi. Sharan is a valued and integral member of Innovation Physical Therapy.
