I have been working in the health and fitness industry for over 20 years. I began as a personal trainer with a keen interest in weight training and basic strengthening. Through experiences with both my clients and my own body, I was introduced to Pilates. I worked with Brian Webb for 2 years exploring a new dimension of strength and flexibility that I did not know existed. This lead me to teacher training courses in Pilates and instilled a strong desire to continue to learn about the human body.
It was my girlfriend at the time (and now my beautiful wife), that encouraged me to apply to physiotherapy school and obtain a scientific background to deepen my understanding of the physical body. I have pursued post-graduate coursework and certifications in Manual Therapy, IMS, Trigger Point Dry Needling, Spinal Manipulation, Diagnostic Imaging, and Pilates. I now use a combination of manual therapy, dry needling, resistance training, pilates, yoga and education to help my patients.
I was initially drawn to physiotherapy more from necessity than choice. I have a long history of back and neck pain that over the years led me to many different health practitioners. Each had some contribution to my recovery but Physiotherapy, Pilates and Yoga were the most influential. My approach is built on personal experiences, education and clinical reasoning skills. I spend time explaining your diagnosis or clinical presentation and work directly with you to organize and understand your exercise program and provide all additional treatment.
