Leasa graduated from Dalhousie University’s physiotherapy program in Halifax after completing a BSc in Human Nutrition and a BSc in Biology. She has been practicing physiotherapy since 2000, first in Nova Scotia and, for the last 17 years, in Alberta. She has ample experience treating a variety of conditions including Whiplash (WAD), sprains/strains, sports injuries, arthritis, torticollis, TMJ dysfunction, repetitive strain injuries, and post-operative rehabilitation.
In clinical practice, Leasa treats musculoskeletal conditions in clients of all ages, including babies and children. She values the importance of carefully assessing the patient and tailoring treatment goals to their needs. To achieve optimal results, she uses a combination of manual and manipulative therapy to restore joint mechanics, Gunn IMS for neuropathic pain, k-taping, blood flow restriction therapy, exercise prescription, patient education, and/or therapeutic modalities. Leasa provides individualized, one-to-one treatment and develops specific exercise programs customized for the level and goals of the patient.
