Karina enjoys spending her time in the outdoors. On the weekends she can often be found hiking, snowshoeing, paddleboarding and camping. She recently started training for a sprint triathlon and plans to complete it in June 2025.
Originally from Central Alberta, Karina initially attended Red Deer College prior to transferring to the University of Alberta to complete her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with Distinction in 2012. She then went on to complete her Master of Science in Physiotherapy from the University of Alberta in 2014. In 2023, she completed her Master of Clinical Science Advanced Healthcare Practice in Comprehensive Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy from the University of Western Ontario.
Karina is certified as a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT) and is registered on the spinal manipulation roster. She has In addition to developing her musculoskeletal training, Karina has a special interest in treating vestibular and concussion conditions and has taken several courses to advance her skills in this area including extensive Vestibular Rehabilitation training through Duke/Emory University and the APTA in 2019. She also has training in Functional Dry Needling, the McKenzie Method, Graston technique, and cupping.
