Jen was born and raised in the small town of Goderich, Ontario, where she grew up playing club volleyball and competitive softball. Following her passion for biology and physiology, she earned a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from the University of Western Ontario. Her academic journey then brought her to Alberta, where she completed a Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta in 2013.
Since graduating, Jen has been a dedicated physiotherapist serving communities across Central Alberta, with a strong focus on private practice. She and her husband Blake are the co-founders of Stride Physiotherapy & Wellness, where they believe patients deserve better care and are committed to making time for each individual's healing journey.
Committed to continuous growth, Jen has pursued extensive post-graduate training, including Pelvic Health, Diagnostic Imaging, Acupuncture, Functional Dry Needling (FDN/IMS), Spinal Manipulation, and Peripheral Manipulation. She also spent a few years as a part-time instructor in the Occupational and Physical Therapy Assistant (OPTA) program at Red Deer Polytechnic.
Jen is passionate about a holistic, patient-centered approach to care, treating a wide range of conditions from chronic headaches to hip pain through hands-on techniques and tailored exercise programs. She has a particular interest in supporting women through all stages of life, including prenatal and postpartum care, pelvic pain, pre- and post-surgical recovery, and the transitions of perimenopause and menopause. She also enjoys taking on speaking engagements focused on pelvic health and empowering women through group education and community events.
Outside of work, Jen maintains an active lifestyle and enjoys running and workouts. Her greatest joy, however, is spending quality time with her two young children and her family.
