Hi! My name is Jayden, a Physiotherapist at Pivotal High Performance Centre. I graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2022, and shortly after I moved to Hamilton, Ontario where I completed my Master’s of Science in Physiotherapy at McMaster University in 2024.
Throughout my life, I have competed in hockey, basketball, lacrosse, and running. I was fortunate to be able to play AAA hockey in Edmonton and eventually progress to junior hockey in Alberta. As a result of my prior experiences, I have always had a passion for sport, physical activity, and maintaining an active lifestyle. Physiotherapy was first introduced to me after suffering a sports injury that required extensive rehabilitation. Seeing firsthand the commitment and strong desire of my physiotherapist to guide me in my return to sport was a driving force to wanting to become a physiotherapist. Furthermore, during an undergraduate placement at the cancer rehabilitation clinic at the University of Alberta, I was able to witness the vital role that physiotherapists play for diverse populations such as cancer and other chronic diseases. These core experiences motivated me not only to want to be a physiotherapist but also instilled a passion for improving clients’ quality of life regardless of their injury or impairment.
Due to the wide scope of practice of Physiotherapy, I love treating a variety of conditions. Particularly I enjoy empowering clients to engage actively in their rehabilitation and ultimately assist them in their journey to accomplish their goals regardless of what they are. From returning to sport or work to managing nagging injuries or chronic disease I take great pride in understanding each client’s unique situation and crafting a tailored evidence-based treatment plan to conquer their goals. To do so, my treatment approach consists of a combination of individualized exercise prescription, manual therapy, and ongoing education.
Outside of the clinic, I enjoy playing and coaching hockey. I also stay active by going to the gym, running, and taking my dog for walks in the River Valley. For entertainment, I’m a die-hard Oilers and Toronto Raptors fan and love watching Marvel movies and sports documentaries.
Academically, I still engage in oncology research with McMaster University.
